Better Risk Management communication builds
from creativity, applied to quality data. With
these two ingredients in place, then the issue
is the software "tool kit." Shelter
Island Risk Services pioneered the idea of
leveraging broad, accepted software into specialized
Risk Management applications. This ability
is our education service: to teach the Risk
Management features of data organization, graphics,
statistics, and modeling.
Courses are hands-on and use client data to
minimize the gap between class and practice. We can run classes at your facility or at ours.
Each year, we host several workshops that focus on "Data Mining" techniques. These techniques will help you to get more usable information out of existing software and data sources.
No one at Shelter Island Risk has the title
of "lecturer", "educator",
or the like. We believe the most effective
teachers must be first and foremost actively
involved in practice. Hands-on, practical experience
is the best preparation for teaching how to
bring information technology and statistical
methods to Risk Management. Our Courses and
Conferences provide a cost effective, efficient
approach to improving skills in:
- Statistical Data Analysis
- Report Design and Production
- Microsoft Office™ applications to
Risk Management
- Decision Analysis
Our programs emphasize hands-on interaction and strongly recommend that clients bring their
actual data to minimize the potential for disconnect
between class and practice.
- One-day workshop on Excel™, Access™ and
Introduction to Statistical Methods in Risk
Management
- Two Day Annual Conference on
Data Mining Methods
