Richard F. Denning
President
. CPCU, JD with Honors, Law Review from Fordham
. ABD in Statistical Methods and MBA, New York University
. BS Metallurgy with High Honors, Case Western Reserve University.
Rick created Shelter Island Risk Services in 1994,
after fourteen years at Crawford & Company, where
he was President of Risk Sciences Group for eight
years. His analytical skills were developed through
management roles in Anistics, now part of AON. Rick’s
greatest interest is in organizing talents of people
with the diverse disciplines to solve real Risk Management
problems. He is an excellent writer, teacher, and
communicator of Risk Management issues. |

Roger H. Dunkin
VP - Regional Director
. BS Computer Sciences from Berry College.
Roger started as a systems engineer at EDS in Detroit,
supporting the Advanced Engineering Division of General
Motors. He joined Risk Sciences Group, started its
Dallas office, and then ran the Atlanta office. He
was chosen as lead consultant to the Retail Industry
and had responsibility for the Home Depot account.
Joining Shelter Island Risk in 1997, Roger continued
his focus on large retail and other complex accounts,
including: Winn-Dixie, Southern Company, PepsiCo,
Kemper Insurance Co., Cox Communications, Blue Cross
Blue Shield of Florida, and CSX Transportation. His
many system tools aid in automating risk processes. |

Ira L. Skop
VP - Regional Director
. BA in Computer Science from Columbia University.
Ira has over 20 years of experience in crafting
creative solutions to complex Risk Management technology
problems. He was a key contributor to Risk Sciences
Group’s growth as a premier RMIS provider from
1982 through 1997. Ira combines his excellent analytical
skills with a unique ability to communicate. |

Kim Rigsby
Senior Consultant
. BS Magna cum Laude and MBA from Jacksonville University.
Kim joined Shelter Island after nearly twenty years
experience at CSX Corporation (a Fortune 500 global
transportation firm). At CSX, she handled projects
involving exposure evaluation, self-insured programs,
fronting arrangements, placement of excess insurance
coverage, and the creation of CSX’s Vermont
Captive. Kim also has experience in creating premium
and loss allocation systems, designing and implementing
comprehensive Risk Management information systems
and in providing Risk Management analysis through
RMIS solutions |

David J. Quinn

Dave worked at American Express Bank in their Finance
and Systems groups. He also worked at Risk Sciences
Group with Rick Aman as a programmer and data analyst.
Dave joined Shelter Island in 1998 and has continued
his role as a programmer and data analyst. His skills
are used across Shelter Island’s client base. |

Dayna M. Bergen

Dayna joined Shelter Island Risk in 2003. Prior to that, she had 15 years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst at AIG and CitiGroup. She managed various system implementations, both domestically and abroad, including business and systems requirements gathering, system testing, documentation, training and implementation support. Her strongest assets, that are critical to Shelter Island Risk, are her analytical, organizational and user-focused skills.

Ken Brownlee

Ken has joined Shelter Island for special projects,
beginning in 1999. He has over thirty years experience
as a multi-line adjuster and corporate risk and claims
manager with Crawford & Company, and in addition,
over twenty years experience as a teacher, columnist,
writer, and author. His writing credits include:
Ken lectures widely and is an expert witness in a large number of litigated
cases.

Felix Kloman

and former Director of Tillinghast, Towers Perrin.
For over twenty-five years, Felix has been a strong
voice for enhancing the role and resources of Risk
Management in large organizations. There are few
people who have played a larger role in engineering
the change from ‘insurance buyer’ to ‘risk
manager’ than he. Felix’s role is a reviewer
and quality control person. He is a sounding board
for ideas and a quality assurance review, critiquing
our work and challenging our assumptions and conclusions. |

Frank Rau

. BS Mathematics from St. John’s University
. MS in Mathematics from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Frank began his career as a statistician at Bell
Telephone Laboratories (now Lucent Technologies).
He applied his mathematical skills to Risk Management
problems at Anistics (Aon), where he worked with
Rick Denning in the solution of advanced risk financing
and actuarial studies. After Aon, he became a Vice
President at American Re-Insurance Company, where
his studies supported a wide range of casualty risk
pricing. He has worked with Shelter Island Risk on
a number of studies, including Winn-Dixie and Sears,
Roebuck. |

Jack Russell
Associate Senior Consultant
. Former Director of Safety & Risk Management at Anheuser-Busch Companies.
Jack was the originator of the Department at Anheuser-Busch,
since prior to his assignment Safety and Risk Management
were entirely separate functions. He “tweaked” just
about every aspect of Risk Management at Anheuser-Busch,
producing cost savings of over $30 million per year.
He learned Risk Management ‘on the job’,
since his prior assignments at Anheuser-Busch were
managing the Los Angeles and then the St. Louis Breweries.
Jack used Rick Denning, then President of Risk Sciences
Group, to build the reporting and analysis system
to monitor the performance of his Risk Management
program. |
